10/15/04 - We need 71 Women!
I just checked the results of the first Cross Crusade Race, and they had 70 women attend their event. We cannot allow a bunch of middle ages, role-playing, sword-wielding, soggy northwest dudes one-up us on female race attendance, can we? No, we can't!!! So, we want to get 71 women at our Halloween race. We have prepared super fantabulous top secret Velo Bella CX Survivial Kits which will be available FREE for all female racers who are racing for the first time this season and who pre-register. (You can select this option as "merchandise" during registration). Also, we are holding a clinic the day before the event at Noon, so you can come and practice and check out the course. So, sign up and bring friends for the most fun you will ever have racing.
10/15/04 - Surf City is not dead!
Velo Bella along with Roaring Mouse Cycles are going to bring Surf City back from the dead, just in time for Halloween. We are sponsoring the one Surf City race this year in hopes that we can bring the series back again next year. This is one race you will not want to miss! Costume contests, kid's races (on their own course!), post race barbecue, live music, vampire slayers, oh, and some races too! All the racing action of Surf City, all the mischief and mayhem of Velo Bella. Check out the Surf City Race Flyer and you can beat the crowds by pre-registering.
10/6-8/04 - Bellas Do Vegas, Baby
Live daily photo updates of Interbike from a Bella perspective, well from a Podium Boy! Armed with press passes and Velo Bella sex appeal, we cover the event like no one else will. For photo coverage view our Online Gallery.
10/9/04 - Gilberto says "ah Bella!" when he sees Laura & Jen
by Brent Chapman
Finally it is over.. The girls are asleep as I write this... We plan for
another night on the town. We must of walked for 20 miles today... our feet all are swollen.
We all got to meet so many cool people... Laura is miss chatty, which was a good thing as the 2 trips to the Manitou espresso machine for double shots barely broke the fog from my head, and Jen is super shy in public. Sheila Moon caught us in the isle and we found out about her Renegade fashion show (which we couldnt find).. seemed the Hotel wasnt too keen with her doing it, so she did it rebel style! We sent her off on her flight with a bag of cookies and some fancy bags colored by myself, Jen, and Laura.
On our way to the exit we ran into VB Amy Abele from Walnut Creek who told us we needed to go by Defeet... and boy were we glad we did. This was in the Center of the Wall:
- The Bella socks on the wall of fame!
I know, Super Sexy.. I want some too! I know you are all drooling now! Then we saw the Fizik saddle everyone loves:
It just kept getting better and better.
We saw so many cool things, and chatted with so many people. The Bellas are sure getting well known not only as a kick butt team, but as a group of outstanding people!
10/10/04 - Bella Bookends kick off Cross Season
The flamingo flock descended on the Northwest for the first round of the US Grand Prix of Cyclocross. Bella Loca went MAD and Barbarella showed that you don't mess with the Queen of the Galazy. The gals worked together to form a nice set of 2nd and 3rd place bella bookends on the podium. The Velonews report, podium pic, and Barbarella's socks are not to be missed.
