November 2004
(well, late October, but we played too much!)

course
- and to my angel, Amy Hall, who does so much and of course, to all the sponors:
Another Bike Shop, Chris King, Clif Bar, Family Cycling Center, GU Sports, Il Fornaio, Jeff Traugott Guitars, Jeremiah's Pick Coffee, Kelly Bikes, Pegasus Bicycle Works, Ritchey, Roaring Mouse Cycles, Roudon Smith Winery, Soulcraft, Scotts Valley Cyclesport, Sheila Moon, Studio 5, The Bicycle Trip, Truvativ, Velo Bella, WTB, and Wild Dingo.com
10/31/04 - Surf City Rises from the Dead
Velo Bella along with Roaring Mouse Cycles held a successful Surf City race on Halloween. Brent's rendition of the famous Rex coure was awesome, with the now famous Trick or Treat run. Valerie's kid's course was too precious. The Bella slayers were dangerous. Dawn was a gorgeous emcee. El Matador was too sexy for his jock
strap. What a treat to have Rocklobster's Paul Sadoff and his band play for us while everyone grubbed on the free barbeque. Best of all, we met and exceeded our goal of 71 women. 77 women showed up to race the event! And while Velo Bella won the exalted Cat Fight, (Meeeow!) Velo Girls put in such a strong showing that
we are sending them a $100 gift certficate to Il Fornaio. Puurrrrrrr! Check out the report and photos on Cyclingnews, VB Results, VB Reports and photos.
10/31/04 - Bella Flamingo Flock hits the East Coast
The Velo Bella Elite CX Team hit round 2 of the Crankbrother's US Gran Prix of Cyclocross (USGP from now on, because I am so tired of typing all that). Teamwork, pink lipstick and Halloween cheer were the theme. Top ten rides were had by Barbarella, who finished 4th both days, and by Bella Loca and Peanut. Barb and Sarah are now tied for 4th place in the USGP series overall.
10/26/04 - It's a Cat Fight!
A Halloween Cat Fight! Meee-ow! In an effort to meet our goal of 71 women at our Spirit of Surf City cyclocross, Velo Bella has challenged Velo Girls and any other team to a duel. (Can it still be a duel if its more than 2 teams?). Whichever team brings the most racers to the race wins a night out for the team at Il Fornaio. They also win coveted bragging rights...purrrrrr. Hair pulling and open handed sissy girl slaps are strictly prohibited.
10/25/04 - Queen of the Galaxy Wins!
Barbarella wasn't even mentioned in the pre-race press releases. What's a girl to do? Well, just go out and win the race and then win again. Barb Howe and Christine Varadaros showed them what teamwork is all about and worked together to place first and second in the Wooden Wheels UCI Cross race. They did it again the next day, but a mechanical kept Christine from repeating the 1-2 show. Barb hung tough though and went on to win the Wissahickon UCI Cross race.
