11/18/03 - Our Riders Are so Interesting
...Really, they are. Each and every one of them has a story to tell. Our newest email member, Mindy, announced she was new to the area. We welcomed her and asked her where she came from. She moved from Washington D.C. and she came here by bicycle. Yes, you read right. 4,700 miles in 66 days. Read Mindy and Tim's lighthearted chronicle of their journey and scope out the kitty pictures.
11/06/03 - Christine Breaks a Leg
Unfortunately, not in the theatrical sense. Our star CXer, Christine Vardaros, broke her leg during the Gloucester, Mass UCI cyclocross race last Sunday. Man...what a bummer. Christine was just starting to feel her fire and rev it up in her quest to make it on the US Worlds Team. The break is one of those uncomplicated ones, and Christine will be back on her bike pretty quickly, but her US season is pretty much over for this year. We are still holding out hope that she can do something by the end of the season, but healing up is definitely the
priority. Join us in sending Bella Beams to Christine. In the meantime,
we'll keep racing cross and we'll hold down the fort for her.
11/05/03 - More CX Outside of CA
We've got some bellas out there racing CX in other parts of the country. One person quitely tearing up her local scene is D.C. Bella, Sami Fournier. Sami is coming off of a collarbone break at the end of
the road season had has been getting into cx racing shape. She
finished in 4th place in the very competitive vegregear.com series race
last weekend and was 1st place in the Women 35+
Some pics of Sami racing here.
